• BIG CAT WEEK

  • Big Cat Wars (aka Lion vs Cheetah): Big Cat Wars
  • Thursday, Feb 23rd @ 8:00pm, 7:00pm BKK, JKT
  • Nat Geo Wild

In a dramatic showcase of the world’s most extraordinary big cat species, Nat Geo presents its first annual BIG CAT WEEK.  The television event features visually stunning and powerfully resonant stories of nature’s fiercest felines from some of the world’s best natural history filmmakers.  Join Dereck and Beverly Joubert on their lifelong odyssey into the soul of big cats.  Zoom in close with John Varty and the mother leopard he has filmed intimately for nearly two decades.  Follow Kire Godal as she films the Maasai warriors who hold the fate of their lion population in the balance.

BIG CAT WEEK is an extension of the National Geographic Society’s Big Cats Initiative, a long-term commitment to stop poaching, save habitat and sound the alarm that big steps are needed to save big cats around the world.  The initiative actively supports on-the-ground conservation projects, education and economic incentives to address the rapid disappearance of big cat populations.  “We no longer have the luxury of time when it comes to big cats,” says Dereck Joubert, “They are in such a downward spiral that if we hesitate now, we will be responsible for extinctions across the globe.  If there was ever a time to take action, it is now.”

Nat Geo WILD’s BIG CAT WEEK takes viewers closer than ever before to these majestic creatures.
