Underground Inferno is their story & the science to save them from coal mine fires.

Across the world, thousands of coal fires are raging. Coal seams can catch fire spontaneously, burn out of control for decades, and lead to global warming by spewing greenhouse gases like CO2 into the atmosphere. They poison our air and may be one of the major causes of global warming. Wherever we have Coal Mines - USA, South Africa, Russia, Australia, India or China - people face similar threats from underground fires. Controlling these fires is crucial, and once started, they are almost impossible to extinguish.
