關於節目

地球暖化問題持續惡化，人類的食物將首當其衝受到破壞，除非能盡快強化食物的基因基礎，讓食物適應激烈氣候變化，否則世人將面臨大饑荒。要解決這個問題，必須從人類主食的野生始祖中尋找不同基因。肯史崔博士帶領組員前往農業在一萬年前興起的地區，在中東和中亞的偏遠地區，仍有人類主食的始祖，這些作物已經發展出能在嚴酷氣候存活的堅韌遺傳性狀。全球科學家都希望取得這些基因與現有的作物結合，試圖對抗全球暖化的衝擊。
