Data storage
Account Information
When You register or submit Your Information on the Site, a temporary copy of that information is routinely made to prevent accidental loss of Your Information through a computer malfunction or human error. We keep Your account information active in Our user registration databases in order to provide immediate access to your personalisation preferences each time You visit the Site. If You ask Us to delete Your account, in most cases Your account will be deactivated and then deleted from Our user registration database in approximately [90] days. This delay is necessary to discourage users from engaging in fraudulent activity. Please note that any information that We have copied may remain in back-up storage for some period of time after Your deletion request. This may be the case even though no information about Your account remains in Our active user databases.

Servers
Our computers (called "servers") that send Your web pages and advertising banners process and store an enormous amount of information every day. These computer records are called "log files." Log files are used for analysis, research, auditing, and other purposes, as described above. After this information has been used, it is stored and is inaccessible. Until the information is stored, Your Personal ID may remain in our active server log files.

AD SERVING
When You visit one of Our Sites You may see multiple kinds of ads, like text ads next to search results and graphical ads shown on web pages. Sometimes these ads are based on the content of the page on which they appear. Other times these ads are generated by matching the ad to Your interests. Either way, We try to show You ads that are relevant to You. To do this most effectively, We, and third party advertisers on Our Sites may use information We know or receive about You like Your gender, location or interests. We may also analyse Your use of Our services, including whether You view or click on ads We show You. We use tools called Cookies and web beacons in the ad serving process. Sometimes We display contextually relevant ads alongside related content. For instance, if You are viewing an article about a programme, We may show You an ad for the DVD that is for sale. When showing You sponsored search ads, We, and third party advertisers on Our Sites may use information about You and Your search query to display You a more relevant ad. We may tailor ads based on Your location determined by a recently entered postal code or by an IP address. We may also use declared information, such as Your gender, age or job category to tailor ads when You are logged in or if You have stored this information within one of our Sites. We may tailor ads to You based on what You know have demonstrated or declared an interest in.

Transparency, Choice and Opt-Out
We offer You transparency and insight into how We serve ads. If you wish to opt out of advertising customised to Your interest you will need to refuse Cookies. Please click here for more information on how to do this. You will still see ads on the Sites, but they will not be customised to Your interests.
