Chobe National Park, Botswana: The summer months in Savute always brings this welcomed migrant, the carmine bee-eater. Spending most of their time catching insects that fly out from the lush green grass, they can often be found perched on the backs of the larger and fairly sturdy kori bustard. As the kori bustard walks through the long grass many flying insects like the grasshoppers will fly out of this large birds way and most of the time straight into the beak of the carmine bee-eater as it launches itself from the back of the bustard to swoop down and take their prey.
